The Corporation is committed to conducting its business in accordance with the highest ethical standards, integrity, and accountability. As part of this commitment, the Corporation has provided an avenue for all employees of the Corporation, Board of Directors, Business Associates and members of the public to report any genuine concerns of any suspected or actual improper conduct within the Corporation.
Disclosure may be made to the Corporation if it relates to an ‘improper conduct’, committed or about to be committed, involving:
Any criminal offences, including fraud, theft, criminal breach of trust, corruption, bribery;
Any non-compliance with statutory or regulatory obligations and the Corporation’s prevailing internal guidelines/policies;
Misuse of the Corporation’s funds or assets;
Conflict of interest (direct or perceived);
Abuse of power or position; and
Any gross mismanagement of the Corporation's affairs.
It is advisable for a potential Whistleblower to consider whether the alleged improper conduct to be disclosed to the Corporation falls within any of the above, prior to making the disclosure.
The following protections will be accorded to a Whistleblower who discloses improper conduct in good faith:
anonymity;
confidentiality of identity; and
protection from detrimental action and immunity from disciplinary action (for Whistleblower who is a staff of the Corporation).
The Corporation reserves the right to revoke the Whistleblower protection accorded under this policy if the Whistleblower has, or is found to have:
made a whistleblowing that is deliberately false, dishonest, mischievous, malicious, frivolous or vexatious;
participated in the reported improper conduct;
whistle-blowed solely or substantially to avoid dismissal or any other disciplinary action; or
the Whistleblower, in the course of making the disclosure or providing further information, breaches the provisions of the policy.
Any disclosure of improper conduct that concerns the Corporation can be made to any of the relevant designated persons through the communication channels provided below.
Whistleblowers are advised to provide sufficient details which include the following:
name, designation and contact particulars; and
details and description of the improper conduct.
Whistleblowers are encouraged to provide their identities or contact details to facilitate the Corporation to clarify or obtain further information for purposes of further investigation into the improper conduct. Any person who elects to remain anonymous is advised that no protection will be accorded and the Corporation’s ability to investigate the alleged improper conduct is limited to the extent of the contents of the report received by the Corporation.
Whistleblowers will be informed by the Designated Person of the status and/ or the findings of the investigation, as the case may be.
